Why Brazil, Why Android, Why Free

The inspiration came from similar apps in the US that had traction — but none of them were available in Brazil. That gap was the opening.

The challenge: monetization dynamics are completely different. In the US, around 5% of users subscribe to apps. In South America, that number drops to roughly 0.2%. Charging upfront or pushing a paywall early would kill traction before the product has a chance to prove itself. So the decision was to release for free — learn first, monetize later.

Brazil also has a structural advantage for early-stage learning: Firebase works far more smoothly than in the EU, where data residency and privacy regulations add friction. That means better analytics, faster iteration, and cleaner signal on how users actually engage.

On platform: 85% of devices in Brazil run Android. Releasing on iOS first would have been slower and reached a smaller audience. Android was the obvious starting point, with iOS as the next step once there's traction to justify it.

The app is currently in testing on Google Play Store.

Current assumption: Users will install the app because they feel they are spending too much time on social media and not feeling as connected with God as they would like to.
